2012 Cadillac XTS – the Newest Luxury Barge

Cadillac has a devoted clientele base, and therefore while Cadillac has decided to remove its STS and DTS lines from new production, will not abandon this niche in the marketplace.

This car will feature all-wheel drive, a 300 horse power and 264 lb-ft of torque 3.6 liter V.6 engine, as well as many abundant information, entertainment, and connectivity features. The architecture of this machine is based on the Buick LaCrosse, and many agree that mechanically it is much the same, such as the wheel base and front and rear wheel tracks. The Cadillac is, however, 5 inches longer overall.

This car has a theme for spaciousness: the trunk is an enormous 18 cubic feet, which has more trunk space than any comparable vehicles such as the BMW 5-series, Audi A6, and Mercedes S-class. The rear passenger seat is also equally bigger than comparable vehicles, with plenty of additional leg room.

To ensure a smooth ride true to Cadillac nature, all XTS models will come standard with magnetic ride control, air suspension in the rear, and Cadillac’s very own HiPer Strut in the front, which reduces torque steer from the 300 horsepower engine. Powerful Brembo brakes will bring this dramatic beast to a timely halt.

The technological advances are worth a note, most notably, Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system which makes its debut in the XTS. A capacitive touch screen (like that on the iPhone) sits on the center stack. All knobs have been eliminated in favor of a 12.3 inch LCD touchscreen.
